We are continuing to develop GamTest to better support Safer Gambling efforts

We continue to develop GamTest with the goal of making responsible gambling work easier, clearer, and more useful in practice. Our development follows a structured product lifecycle, where we gradually improve both the platform and the user experience in the test itself.

Building a stronger foundation for future development

The upcoming release focuses on modernising the GamTest Admin platform. We have updated the user interface and improved the backend technology at the same time.

The main purpose of this release is to create a stable and modern foundation that allows us to add new features more easily in the future. In this phase, we focus on strengthening the platform rather than introducing new functionality.

More flexibility coming after summer

After the summer, we plan several updates that will give organisations more flexibility to adapt the player-facing parts of GamTest to their needs and ways of working.

One important improvement is a redesign of the player feedback page with a clearer visualisation of the five dimensions.

We are also introducing new configuration options for the test:

  • The choice between having the feedback page in a one-page format, where feedback and call-to-actions are shown together, or a two-page format, where feedback and call-to-actions are separated

  • The choice between a 1–7 scale or a 0–10 scale in the self-test

Our user testing shows that the one-page format significantly increases engagement with the call-to-actions, as users are more likely to explore them when everything is presented together. We also see that the 1–7 scale is often perceived as slightly easier to use and is less cramped on smaller screens, although both options work well in practice.

We develop GamTest together with our customers

A key part of our approach is ongoing dialogue with the organisations that use GamTest in their responsible gambling work. We want to continue inviting customers to discussions about how they use the tool, what works well, and where there is room for improvement.

By combining technical development with close collaboration, we continue to improve GamTest as a practical tool for early identification, reflection, and support for more sustainable gambling behaviour.

Release timeline

  • In April, we focused on improving accessibility across GamTest. We implemented updates aligned with WCAG 2.1 requirements to strengthen usability and ensure a more inclusive experience for all users.

  • In early June, we release a modernised version of the GamTest Admin platform. This update includes a refreshed user interface and important backend improvements. Together, these changes strengthen the technical foundation and make it easier for us to continue developing new features and functionality over time.

  • After summer, we will focus on updates to the player-facing experience. This includes a redesigned feedback page with a clearer visualisation of the five dimensions in the test.

We will also introduce new configuration options, including:

    • The choice between a one-page or two-page feedback format

    • The choice between a 1–7 or 0–10 response scale in the self-test

These options will allow organisations to adapt the experience to their specific needs and target groups.
